Today is #ThrowbackThursday - Sisters are your first friends

"A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost." — Marion Garretty

Hello Everyone,

As I think of my sisters this quote made me smile. Growing up with these ladies Vanessa (to my left) and Valerie (to my left) was and is a delight and a joy.

The picture in white is a Throwback from the time that my sisters treated me to a birthday trip to Miami. Such sweet time, plane drama, airport breakdown, warm tropical rain showers, laughing until we cried, yummy food, all white party…hey the rest stays in Florida!

Though not a Throwback, I couldn’t leave out our sister Deavon (on the far right with the jazzy hair cut)

Do you have sisters? How about a little ‘show and tell’?

Ciao!

#ThrowbackThursday

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant."                         -Robert Louis Stevenson

Hello everyone,

Whenever I have a live performance, I am often reflective of how far I have come. My throwback picture was taken nearly 10 years ago as I was planning for the release of my first CD "Breath of Fresh Air".  It is amazing to me that a picture or song can bring back such a flood of memories, thoughts and emotions.

Seeds that were planted then continue to grow deep roots and reach upward to bear fruit even today.

Let's continue to plant and water my friends, the increase will come.

Ciao!

Stevie Wonder: My Cherie Amour is Released on May 31, 1969

Hello Everyone,

You know that I am beaming as I share this bit of history.  On May 31, 1969, My Cherie Amour written by Stevie Wonder, Sylvia Moy and Hank Cosby was released.  Story has it that the song was original titled "Oh My Marsha" for an ex-girlfriend of Stevie's but after the break-up he kept the song and changed the lyrics to My Cherie Amour and aren't we glad he did.

I really enjoy the lighthearted feel, sense of longing and innocence of the song.

La la la la la la, la la la la la la
My cherie amour, lovely as a summer day
My cherie amour, distant as the milky way
My cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine

In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never noticed me
My cherie amour, won't you tell me how could you ignore
That behind that little smile I wore
How I wish that you were mine

La la la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la, la la la la la la
Maybe someday, you'll see my face amoung the crowd
Maybe someday, I'll share your little distant cloud
Oh, cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine

La la la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la, la la la la la la

Nostalgia, gotta love it.  Thank you Stevie for such an amazing song.
